Checkups

Regular checkups are a key component of good oral hygiene. Common dental problems can present few or no symptoms in their early stages, but left untreated, tooth decay and disease can quickly spiral out of control, causing extensive damage.

As general dentists, Drs. White and Haines recommend that you schedule a checkup every six months. At your visit, we’ll conduct a tooth-by-tooth examination, assess your bite alignment, and inspect your gums for periodontal disease. Digital X-rays will provide detailed images of your oral cavity so we can examine your smile’s health.

We’ll also perform an oral cancer screening with ViziLite, a new, early-detection tool that could save your life! ViziLite uses light to identify early-stage, abnormal tissue. If the ViziLite reveals a questionable area, we’ll perform a brush biopsy to determine the cause. After your exam, we’ll present a personalized treatment for maximum oral health.
